Nathan Archer's Books for Sale!

Once upon a time I had hopes of keeping quiet that I write under the name Nathan Archer -- specifically, I intended to keep it quiet until I managed to get a book published under the Archer name that wasn't a tie-in. Nathan was supposed to be my science fiction name, while Lawrence was my fantasy name.

However, the SF market's been so weak for so long, and I've had so little time to devote to Nathan's work, that I've given up on keeping it quiet, especially since people who had no business doing so leaked the news long ago.

I still avoided mentioning it in print, though. I'm admitting it now because I have stacks of Nathan's books I want to clear out, too. Here they are. With notes.

Some of these are in very limited quantities. Others aren't.

If you want one you don't see here and can't find locally, your best bet is the various online bookstores. If you're not in the U.S., I have a few you might want to check out.

these upon request,
but only as

Predator: Concrete Jungle
by Nathan Archer
Bantam 1995
Predator: Cold War
by Nathan Archer
Bantam 1997
It doesn't say so on the cover, but this is a
novelization of Mark Verheiden's Dark Horse
Comics mini-series, which was originally
entitled simply Predator. I added the subtitle,
"Concrete Jungle." Mark's graphic novel has since
been re-issued with this title.
Again, adapting a Mark
Verheiden mini-series
for Dark Horse. This time
Fox didn't want any
changes (though they
insisted I remove an
"X-Files" joke), but I
re-arranged some stuff
to make the geography
and Russian details
more accurate.
20th Century Fox
wanted major changes
because they'd used part
of Mark's plot in the
second movie, and I
had to add some other
stuff because the
adaptation ran short.

Mars Attacks: Martian Deathtrap
by Nathan Archer
Del Rey 1996
Spider-Man: Goblin Moon
by Kurt Busiek & Nathan Archer
BP/Boulevard 2000
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine #10
Valhalla

by Nathan Archer
Pocket 1995
While these were published to coincide with the
movie's release, this short-lived (two novels; I only
wrote the first) series was licensed from Topps and
is based on the comic books and gum cards, not
Tim Burton's film. The hardcover includes a couple
of trading cards.
I wrote this from an
outline that was about
90% Kurt's, 10% mine;
the writing's about 99%
mine. A contract
dispute between the
packager and Marvel
Comics resulted in
limited distribution.
This is a first-season
story; references to
the USS Defiant were
added by the editor
when he rescheduled
it from #4 to #10 in
the series because he'd
heard I broke my hand.
Not my fault; I turned it
in on time despite
the hand.

Not much to say about
this one. Mostly written
before the series
premiered. I had fun
writing it.
First DC issue. Pencils by Jeffrey Moy with help
from Philip Moy -- help was required because
Paramount was very, very late approving the
script. Cover A is a photo of Jeri Ryan, design
by Alex Sinclair; Cover B is by Jim Lee and
Scott Williams.
Four-in-one collection
of False Colors and three
other stories (not by me).

Acceptance Mark

If you prefer not to deal with PayPal, you can order by mail. Send check or money order to:

	Lawrence Watt Evans
	P.O. Box 14452
	Silver Spring MD 20911

Shipping: There is no additional charge for shipping for hardcovers or large orders -- it's already included in the prices. For a single paperback, add $3.00 for anywhere in the U.S.; for multiple paperbacks totaling less than $25, add $5.00 for the order. For overseas shipping on any order, add an additional $5.00. You'll need to enter shipping as a separate shopping-cart item; Paypal's system doesn't readily accommodate my rates.

Autographs: Please specify in a separate e-mail whether you want your copy autographed or unsigned, and if signed, whether you want it personalized, or just a signature. It's the same price either way. If you don't say, I don't sign it.

Other sources: You can find many of my books for sale from the major online booksellers: Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books-A-Million, and so on. Some recent titles, mostly reprint, are also available directly from their respective publishers, Wildside Press and FoxAcre Press. FoxAcre also has a few of my Tor titles in stock.

If you'll settle for used copies, you might look at abebooks or, of course, eBay.

If you're outside North America and these options don't work for you, I'm sorry, but I can't help much. I do have a page of international booksellers, but it's impossible to keep up with the entire world.

E-books: If you're interested in downloading electronic versions of my work, also known as e-books, several are available on Fictionwise and other outlets. In the past I also had short stories on Alexandria Digital Literature and Mind's Eye Fiction, but AlexLit is no longer selling e-books and Mind's Eye is completely out of business. I don't sell any e-texts directly.

If you have any questions, e-mail me.

Latest update: January 28, 2010. This is Version 1
