Short Fiction

by Lawrence Watt-Evans

COLOR CODED by GENRE

---------

So here's the deal: This is a bibliography of my published short fiction, but with the titles color-coded to indicate the story's genre.

Red indicates a horror story -- red as blood. Green, the color of a dragon's hide or an elf-maiden's eyes, means fantasy. The deep blue of Cherenkov radiation denotes science fiction. And white means contemporary fiction with no horrific or fantastic elements at all.

Not all stories fit neatly into a single genre, though, so you'll also find dark fantasy, science fantasy (including superhero stories), SF horror, SF with some fantasy elements, fantasy with some horror elements, SF with just a trace of the fantastic, and so on.

So there you go.

This list is, to the best of my knowledge, complete as of September 1, 2015. The titles are not links, as that would screw up the colors; for the same list without colors but with links, see my regular "Short Fiction" page. (That one's alphabetical; there's also in order of publication.)
