Buying Books Around the World

---------------------------------

As an author, I am, of course, interested in books. One of the wonderful things about the World Wide Web is that it's made a vast selection of books available to pretty much anyone with a modem.

As an American, I sometimes forget that the Web is indeed worldwide. I was reminded of this recently, when someone e-mailed to ask why I only linked to U.S. booksellers -- after all, even for Canadians it's a nuisance dealing with U.S. dollars, and for someone in Russia or South Africa Amazon just isn't very convenient at all.

So I've done a little research and found the following. Notice that I'm not doing this selflessly; I've deliberately preferred companies that carry my own work, or companies that have partnership programs I've joined:

I'm an Amazon associate at all three branches:

In Association with Amazon In Association with Amazon UK In Partnerschaft mit Amazon.de
United StatesUnited KingdomGermany

I'm also now a Chapters affiliate, and our Canadian readers can click below to buy from Chapters, or from their competition at Indigo...

Canada:
Indigo.ca
Chapters.ca Affiliate

Dragon Weather

And then the rest:

E-Publishing:Russia:
Alexandria Digital LiteratureOZON
E-publisher for several of my short stories

Online Russian bookstore listing some of my books

More Russians:
Knigi RossiyLira (English)
These two looked pretty good, but
didn't appear to carry any of my work.

Australia:South Africa:
DymocksKalahari.net
These were the best booksellers I could find
in these countries, but they don't list any of my work.

And then there are the used-book dealers who have some of my work in stock, such as:

If you know of additional used-book dealers who carry my work, or good online booksellers in other countries than those listed above, please let me know. I looked for one in New Zealand without success, and was limited by language in most other countries. (There are several in Russia, Australia, Canada, and Britain in addition to the ones listed above, but I decided not to try to list all of them, and just picked one or two that seemed most promising.)

That appears to be it, except for the usual bottom-of-the-page clutter...
