Every so often, I've heard science fiction fans wax eloquent about the magnificence of space travel, and say they would do anything, anything to go to outer space.
Cynic that I am, I wondered whether they really meant it.
So when Liz Holliday, the editor of a new British SF mag called 3SF, was looking for stories, I wrote "Volunteers," considering just who might give up what for that opportunity.
It looks as if the only other place it ever appeared was on my Patreon and subscription pages. I don't think I have enough unreprinted science fiction for another collection yet.
