Oh, Sweet Goodnight

by Christina Briley & Walter Vance Awsten

Did You Say Chicks?!

I didn't actually write this, Christina Briley did, but I revised it enough that I claimed credit as a collaborator, using the Walter Vance Awsten pseudonym because I had a story of my own in the same anthology. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have. It's her story. She asked me for advice, and I maybe went a little overboard. It was always aimed at the "Chicks in Chainmail" series, so that's where it wound up.

It was published in Did You Say Chicks?!, and reprinted in the omnibus Chicks Ahoy. To the best of my knowledge, it's never appeared anywhere else.

Christina Briley, for those who don't know, is one of my sisters, and the author of The Raven Coronet, as well as a couple of short stories, and under her real name, Ruth Evans, she's the author of Twirling Jennies, non-fiction about the history of dance.
