Bruce Coville put together a bunch of anthologies in the late 1990s. They paid well, and Bruce was fun (if sometimes exhausting) to work with. (Children's editors are more demanding than adult fiction editors; you can't get away with sloppy writing when you're writing for kids. Bruce is the most demanding I ever sold anything to, but he's also really good at it.) So I tried to sell him stories for pretty much all of his anthologies.

I didn't always manage it -- he really is a tough editor. But when he was putting together Bruce Coville's Shapeshifters for Avon, I wrote "I Was A Bestselling Teenage Werewolf" and he bought it.

It's really more of an extended gag than a story, but what the heck, it was a sale. I'll take it. And I think it is kind of fun.
