Blood Feud

Cemetery Dance #16 In the 1990s I was very involved in the horror community -- serving two years as president of HWA should make that obvious -- so I wanted to have my work visible in all the major horror markets. One of those was Cemetery Dance. I didn't have any particularly brilliant ideas for a story that would suit CD, though.

As I recall, what eventually happened was that I heard someone complaining about how much horror was about either vampires or serial killers, whereupon I asked myself, "Why 'or,' and not 'and'?"

"Blood Feud" was the result, and it sold to CD, which made me happy.

Its only reprint so far is in In the Blood, my collection of vampire stories.
